Hixson, Tennessee
Hixson is an unincorporated community and a neighborhood in the City of Chattanooga, Tennessee in Hamilton County, Tennessee, United States. It is a northern suburb of Chattanooga; and is part of the Chattanooga, TN-GA Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Hixson is surrounded by communities from several different cities and suburbs. It is not a rigidly defined location. However, the area is typically defined as: North of the Rivermont area (a Chattanooga neighborhood); east of the City of Red Bank and U.S. Highway 27; south of the unincorporated area of Middle Valley and Thrasher Pike; and borders the river on the east.〔(Tennessee Hometown Locator )〕 Within the Hixson community, there are also smaller communities. These include DuPont, Northgate, Big Ridge, and Valleybrook.

Hixson is represented on the City of Chattanooga council with two district seats – District 2 currently held by Jerry Mitchell and District 3 currently held by Ken Smith.〔(City Council Map; dated . )〕〔()〕 Hixson is represented on the Hamilton County Commission in two districts as well: District 1, currently held by Fred Skillern; and District 3, held by Marty Haynes.〔(District Map; dated . )〕
